Please review the categories to determine which membership best suits your needs. All Social Dancer memberships are based upon the anniversary date when you paid your membership dues. Ballroom Division memberships are structured annually - Jan 1 to Dec 31. We look forward to your participation in our dance community!
Dances for enjoyment and works to improve and does not compete. May include retired Ballroom Division Athlete. While tangible benefit of Ballroom Dancer and Social Dancer are the same, those selecting this category have the satisfaction of knowing the difference in rate is donated to USA Dance to allow us to continue our work. Selection of this category is optional. This is not a competitor category.
Enjoys and appreciates the physical, mental, and social benefits of ballroom dancing.
A social dancer under the age of 18. Often a family member or friend of adult member.
An individual who is engaged in the teaching of social dance who does not compete as a professional and does not instruct those who will be competing in USA Dance events.
A competitive dancer who is age 18 or above.*
A competitive dancer who is age of 18 or above but below age 35 and is enrolled in school full time.*
A competitive dancer who is below the age of 18.*
An amateur competitive dancer who is age 18 or above who only competes as the amateur in a pro/am partnership.
A competitive dancer who declares him or herself as a professional or dances as a professional in competition.
An individual who serves in an official capacity,(i.e. Adjudicator, Invigilator, Organizer, Chair of Adjudicators, WDSF Adjudicator, etc.) in the field of DanceSport and/or ballroom dance.
An individual, who is not an adjudicator, engaged in the physical and mental training and guiding of DanceSport Amateur and Professional Athletes.
A dedicated supporter of Ballroom DanceSport.
Qualifies for participating in Special Olympics competitions only.
Dance Partner of Special Olympics Athlete –for participating in Special Olympics only.
An individual, who is not an adjudicator, engaged in the physical and mental training and guiding of Special Olympics DanceSport Athletes.
A competitive athlete who is age 18 or above*.
A competitive athlete who is age 13 to 17*.
An amateur competitive athlete age 12 and under*.
An individual who serves in an official capacity in the field of DanceSport Breaking Division, but not as an adjudicator (i.e. emcee, dj, comp organizer, etc.).
Any individual who does not actively compete, but who wants to show support for the DanceSport initiatives of USA Dance. This would include former athletes, parents or other family members of athletes, and general supporters of DanceSport in the Olympics.
An individual who serves in an official capacity in the field of DanceSport Breaking Division including an adjudicator (i.e. judge, scrutineer, invigilator, comp organizer, chairperson, etc.).
*Memberships are calculated on a calendar year basis and will be valid through December 31st of the given year. Age classifications are based upon the individual's birthday, which occurs within the calendar year. For example, if a minor/youth/teen were to register on January 6th and they turn 18 on November 17th, they will need to register as an adult even though they do not turn 18 until later in the year.
